With Thanksgiving just two days away, my thoughts naturally turn to all the things that I am deeply grateful for. My family is my world. My entire world. I often wonder what I could have possibly done to deserve all that I've been blessed with. If somebody would have asked me 12 years ago what I thought the ideal life for me would be, I would have described the life I have now. Are things perfect? Of course not. But, I have learned that through all the trials I have experienced in my life it is impossible to taste the sweet without having experienced the bitter. Right now I am savoring the sweetness that is my life, and for that I am thankful.
These are my zoo animals and I adore each one of them. Yes, they drive me crazy. They make messes at a baffling rate, they eat enough food to feed a small country, they fight like nobody's business, they keep me up at night, they consume every bit of my quickly fading sanity but they are MINE. They are each so unique and special in their own way. Even though they fight more than I can sometimes bear, they love each other and would (and do) stand up for each other whenever it is required. I often fail miserably as a mother but like I always say, I am a work in progress. If nothing else, I hope that my children know that they are loved. I have a lot to learn and my children are constantly teaching me. What an honor and blessing it is to be their mother.
I also really love this guy. A lot actually. He puts up with more than he should and I'm grateful for that. He works hard to sustain our family and support me in all that I do. He also happens to be my best friend and favorite person to hang out with. In the words of Kip from Napolean Dynamite: He's my "thol mate."We are gearing up for a weekend with family in St. George. We leave tomorrow and are very excited to spend time with my parents and all 7 (hopefully) of my siblings and their families. We will also get to see my amazing grandparent's and hopefully a cousin or two. It should be a wonderful weekend packed full of good memories for sure.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
