Ok, this is it. The last post you will see about our trip to Japan. I'm sure for some of you this is getting old. This is just a modge podge of some things we did while we were there. We were able to take a quick taxi ride over to the temple. We never were able to do a session because the earliest session wasn't until 10am and it just never worked with Rob's work schedule while we were there.
Our last morning in Tokyo, we took a $20 taxi ride over to the temple just so we could get pictures of it. It was a unique temple and I'm really glad we got to see it close up.
Kay and I took a walk through this beautiful forest area right in the middle of town. It was gorgeous. Very peaceful.
One of the nights we were in Tokyo, one of the firms clients (who was the reason we went to Tokyo) took us out to a very nice, authentic Japanese dinner. It was a very neat experience, but I was glad I was able to stage that seafood allergy. Nasty, nasty food.
This was us at the restaurant with his boss and girlfriend on the right and our new Japanese friends on both ends. It was a really fun night.
While Kay and I were walking around a shrine one day, we caught a Japanese wedding happening. It was very interesting.
Rob actually has two childhood friends who live in Tokyo right now. One in particular was one of his most favorite friends growing up. He is also an attorney and he and his wife are just awesome. I was glad to finally have met them. We were able to spend an entire day with them while we were there. The Wixom's (see above post) were there too. It was Mother's Day and we went to church with them then spent the afternoon and evening at their house with their family. This is their youngest, Tess. She was a doll! I just held her and missed my baby. It was fun getting to be around their cute kids because it filled our void for just a little bit.
Isn't she a doll? She was such a little ham and she played the violin really well. She's only 4. Their 3 older kids all play the violin REALLY well. We were very impressed.
Their boys were really cute! Their kids speak fluent Japanese. They have lived in Japan for 6 years and have attended Japanese schools, so they speak REALLY well. It was so fun listening to them communicate with the native Japanese kids. They are really smart kids and it was such fun getting to spend time with them.
This was the night view from our hotel. We were on the 47th floor of the hotel, which was the highest building in all of Tokyo.
Ok, that's it.
