To My Sister

(Spring 2005)
Today is my sister Amanda's birthday. I could not let the day go by without telling the world (or anybody who reads my blog) how much I adore her. She is amazing. Truly.

Today is big 3-0 for her!

Amanda has so many amazing talents and anybody who knows her knows what they are.

::She is a talented dancer. I love to watch her dance. She can also choriagraph beautiful dances that would blow you away. When she was younger, she would usually dance her way into another room--instead of walking. I loved it.

::She is super organized. Super.

::She is smart. She is always striving to learn new things and further her education. She has a great love for the scriptures and is very knowledgable in them.

::She has a strong testimony and has always been eager to share it with others. I have always admired how couragous she is to share it with total strangers. I have witnessed many times her giving pass-along cards to random people over the years. I love that about her.

::She is the MOST patient mother I know. I am always in awe at how sweet and patient she is with her children. She is a great example to me in that way. I don't share this quality.

::She is loyal and forgiving. I say this because she has always been such a great sister and friend to me--even when I haven't always been deserving of her love. She has played a huge role in my life and I would go as far as to say that if it weren't for her, I may not be where I am today. She took me and my 2 kids in when I really needed her. She put up with all my flaws and mistakes and loved me unconditionally. I will always be in debt to her for that. I don't think she realizes how her constant influence in my life has effected me.

I could go on and on, but I just want her to know that I love her and I hope she has the best birthday ever. I wish I were there to help celebrate, but I know her sweet husband and our sister Anna will take care of her.

Happy Birthday, Sis!

I left a comment and it didn't show up. Hmmm. Maybe it will show up later. Anyhow, I want to thank you for that sweet tribute. It made me cry. I love and admire you every bit, if not more than you love me. Truthfully.

Happy BDAY Amanda, You guys are so lucky to have each other. I've always thought you must be so cool, to have a nick name like aunt Lucy. I wish I was that cool.
