An End In Sight

It was almost two weeks ago when this baby was threatening to enter the world and now it seems he is happy right where he is at. I've been having lots of false labor but nothing that is lasting more than a couple hours.

I had my 37 week check-up today and the doctor was a little concerned with my fluid levels because of my 5 pound weight gain over the last week. She thought for sure I had extra fluid because surely, nobody gains 5 pounds in one week! Nope, just fat. I got to see my little man on the ultrasound and it was great. He had his foot in his face and was sucking on his big toe. The doctor is predicting a 6-7 pounder.

I also had to have a Non-Stress-Test to check his movement and heart rate. That checked out just fine--after they used a stun gun type thing to wake him up. He literally jumped when they put that thing on my belly. It was weird. Cruel, almost.

I asked the doctor what her policy is for induction. She said she would induce 9 days early. That was music to my ears! So, it looks like if this boy doesn't decide to come on his own, he will be forced out on or around the 8th of September. I think I can handle 2 more weeks. My Mother-in-law will be here on the 5th, so that would work out perfectly.

Congratulations. I am glad things are going good for Tate. I hope you can go on your on, early, but... at least you do have an end in sight.
And you are NOT fat, it is just that water in your feet. :) Maybe putting your feet up a little more will send it packing. ;)

I'm glad that everything checked out fine today! How fun to be able to see him again, that's funny about him sucking his toe. Good luck w/ everything. I, too, am excited to see him on your blog.

Good luck to your whole family. I think that you will really enjoy the next 2 weeks getting ready. It will be so fun for the kids to have a new little one around when they come home from school. Sounds so cozy to me. Take care and good luck to you.

5 lbs is nothing sista' I can do that in one sitting, especially when I am pregnant. Besides, who cares it's all coming off after Tater Tot is popped out of the old oven. Can't wait. Hang in there.

I am so glad for the details. He is a lucky little man. Did you notice that Taffy I sent was, "Tater taffy". I thought it was too cute to pass up.

I am so glad to hear that things are going well. It's also nice that your doctor is willing to induce so early. Hope you can hold out till your mother-in-law gets here!

I would have thought sleeping for you would have been a thing of the past about 5 kids ago. :O) Glad to hear everything is well with Tate. Looks like he is already giving you a run for your money!

You are so close Emily, that is so exciting.

I remember the little noise gun thing. It never, ever worked on Britton.

My thoughts are with you. Good luck and I'm so glad Grandma is coming. Yeh for extra help.

Looks like you are starting to see the finish line! I babysat a little guy named Tate last night-what a cutie! I think it's a great name.

Call me if you can manage an In N Out run this week or next. I'm willing to come and gain a pound or two with ya!
