It's been an eventful week in the Matson household. The kids have finished another great school year. I'm trying to be happy, but it's taking everything I've got to contain my fear of what's to come. Let's just say it's going to be a very long summer.
Caleb recieved a couple of great awards and we are very proud. He survived his first year of middle school, and I'm proud to say we did too! It's been touch and go, but overall, it was a good year. Straight 'A's and a great baseball season. They didn't lose a single game and Caleb is looking forward to playing on the 8th grade team next year. I'm bummed I didn't get a single picture of him playing b-ball this year. Bad mom.Sarah had a pretty good season too. She's our little athete and it's been fun watching her improve this year.

This was Ren's first year of tee-ball and it was extra special because of "Coach Rob." Ren loved having his Dad as his coach and he did a pretty good job seperating the two. He probably had a little more fun playing in the dirt and dragging his feet while he ran, but he loved it and that's what matters. Rob had a great time coaching, but it's a very thankless and time consuming job and I doubt he'll do it again.

Oh I hear ya. I remember the days of sadness and then sadness. Two reasons with different meanings.
Sad they go to school and sad they are out of school. And then to be hormonal. Now that is just adding sad to the fire.
You know the commercial. Don't get sad, get glad.. Garbage bags. But I believe its don't get mad. But I am mad. In not a good way.. I better end before your friends wonder who in the world is that?
Thanks for the post and the cute pictures of your kids. Wow, you guys have been very busy! Congratulations on all of the awards, good grades, and successful sports seasons. Our last day of school is tomorrow and I have the same fears. My older boys are at each other all of the time, and the summers when they're together non-stop is even worse. At least we can think of each other and all of the other moms out there and know we're not the only ones going crazy!
yeeeeah, i am not looking forward to the last day of school next thursday. it always takes us at least two weeks to get into a groove of being all at home, ALL day, together. if only i had a pool. ::sigh::
ps. your kids are too big!! give them spankins from Aunt Memzy for me.
Your kids are all super talented and smart. I am proud of them for another good year.
Every time Summer comes around I feel grateful for year-round school. Only a 6 week Summer!
Congratulations on all those good accomplishments.
I love the picture with coach Rob. The thanks he gets are shown in Ren's eyes.
Great family. Good job!
Love Ya,
You guys are done already? Wow.
I understand the "what am I going to do with these guys all summer" feeling.
You'll have a blast creating lots of great memories.
We still two more weeks of school. I'm sort of looking forward to it...and sort of not.
:0)
When are you guys coming? (You ARE still coming, right?) Give us a call. We're excited to see you guys and the kids!!
I feel the same...Jacob had his Preschool celebration yesterday, and now we are preparing for Kindergarten. I can't believe he is even old enough to go to school!
I think I am the only parent who loves summer vacation. The only two who can have issues with each other are calvin and Ella, and they are both going to summer school in July. I love having no set schedule for a few months. Then when school starts, I am ready again for the schedule.
That picture of Rob & Ren is so cute. What a great Dad. I am totally feeling your pain about Summer. Since we are doing our only vacation at the beginning of summer I am a little worried about how I am going to keep these guys busy.
They grow up so fast, yet not fast enough. ;)
We still have two half-weeks of school left in Las Vegas. I can't wait for school to get out! For me, it's so much easier when the older kids are out of school. We sleep in, Homer has someone to play with, we sleep in...
