It was a whirlwind trip back to my homeland, but well worth the effort. Besides being really sick the whole time, it was an incredible weekend. Rob should seriously get some legitimate award for the outstanding job he did with the kids while I was gone. The house was clean when I got home and everybody was happy. He even took 5 kids with him to his office on Saturday to watch the big UT/BYU game. From what I heard, the kids all did great in the Primary Program. I was really bummed I missed it.
The baptism was awesome. We met at the church Saturday morning for talks. My sisters spoke--Molly and Amanda. Both did an awesome job. Anna sang. I love hearing her sing. After the talks, we all drove to the Kern River where Scott was baptized. Yes, he insisted on being baptized in the river. Actually, he really wanted to be baptized in the ocean, but that didn't work out. He's a nature guy through and through. I could do an entire post about the baptism and about the "interesting" details surrounding the location and such. All that really matters is that he was baptized and it was done with the proper authority. It was memorable-let me put it that way.
The party was really fun. My grandma was so happy. I don't think I have ever seen her so happy. There were tributes, musical performances and a really neat documentary that my talented brother put together. I only took a couple pictures and they didn't turn out. I'll have to steal some off my siblings and cousins blogs when they post some.
On Sunday morning I was able to drive to Ventura where Scott and Molly live. Scott was confirmed in their ward. My dad did the confirmation and it was beautiful. It was fun to get to meet some of their ward members who played a part in Scott's conversion. We also got to see Molly and Scott's house which is within walking distance to the beach.
Rob's parents get here today and we are really excited! I spent the entire day yesterday doing laundry and planning our Thanksgiving dinner. This will be our first time ever hosting Thanksgiving and I'm a little nervous. I think I have it all figured out and hopefully I won't humiliate myself. I'm actually pretty excited. We are having some of our favorite friends, the Proffitt's over along with Rob's great aunt and uncle. C and K will be with Steve this year which makes me sad, but happy too because that means it's our year for Christmas. Sunday Tait will be blessed and we are speaking in church. It will be a neat day.
I have a busy day of grocery shopping to do today. The cleaning lady is going to come work magic on my house while I'm out gathering the goods for our Thanksgiving meal.
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Even more than Christmas. I love how relaxed it is (for the most part) and I love the food. I love that gifts don't have to be bought. I just love everything about it. I have so much to be grateful for this year. My list is endless. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am looking forward to a blogging-free next few days so I can focus on what matters the most.

Glad you made it back alright. I miss you already! I wish we had had more time together. It was a really special weekend though, wasn't it?
You did an awesome job on your talks! And the baby blessing was beautiful. I'm going to miss working with you in Primary, but I'm kind of excited that we'll be able to be in Relief Society together with Tiffany too. I'm really going to have to force myself to not check on the nurseries next week! I feel blessed for the bond that we formed serving in Primary. It really was fun to work with you. We definitely still need to get together!
