My boy

I really miss my little boy right now. Today is the day he's been anxiously waiting for since the other 3 kids marched off to school almost 2 months ago. I had Ren on the waiting list at the elementary school's Pre-K program since the beginning of the year. Well, yesterday we got the call that he was IN! My immediate response was total elation, until I realized that my baby boy would be gone from me everyday for 4 hours. I am excited for him, but I can't help but feel a little sad and guilty that I'm not the one teaching and playing with him during those hours. I have to remind myself that this is GOOD for him. This is preparing him for kindergarten next year. He's learning important 'social' skills that will be crucial in preparing him for kindergarten. I'm just a little sad. I can't wait to pick him up in a couple hours and hear all about his day and all that he learned. He has grown so much over the last year. I love him so much and I enjoy every second I have to spend with my little buddy. I love that he calls himself my little buddy.

awwww.. he must be so excited. It will be so good for him too, don't worry - pretty soon you will back to the elation state.

It looks like it will be so great for him. Plus now you can go to the store with one kid!!! How fun is that?

He's a cutie! That is very exciting for him, and pretty soon when he's coming home with all sorts of great stuff, you'll be excited again too!

"coming home with all sorts of great stuff"... like germs, toys that belong to some other kid, and words we don't speak at our house. In the words of Don Henley, "this is the e-e-e-nd of the innocence." How's that for pessimism!

Leave it up to my husband to come up with a comment like that.

I got a good laugh out of your engineer/attorney/rock and roller guy! But ignore that. You already have 3 others performing that little task. Enjoy the lightened load and give Rachel an extra hug!!!
