Dear Me

Dear Younger Me,

Now, I know you're stubborn, but I want you to try to take to heart some of the things I'm going to tell you. It's your future self, so trust me-- I've been there!

On Your Childhood:
*Keep a journal--you'll be glad when you get older and can look back on some of the pivotal moments in your life. Keep a record of your feelings on the day you were baptized...you'll want to look back on that later on in life.
*Enjoy school more. Try harder to learn everything you possibly can while you are young..it will make your later school years much easier!
*Get to know your Grandparent's more. Learn from them. They won't be around forever.
*Don't worry so much about how you look and the clothes you wear...in the long run, those things don't matter.
*Realize how beautiful you really are and don't let other's make you feel any different!
*Be confident. You have every reason to be!
*Be happy. You deserve it. You are a special daughter of your Heavenly Father.

On High School:
*Take High School seriously. Try harder to learn all you can and get good grades. Think more about College and how important education is. You are smart, and you are capable of succeeding!
*Don't waste time trying to fit in so much. Most of the people you are trying to impress will have no interest in you down the road.
*Focus on being a good example to those around you and don't try so hard to be "cool."
*Enjoy Seminary. The things you learn there are so important and will help shape who you are and who you will become!
On Family:
*Take more time to be friends with your siblings. They will someday be your closest friends. Be kind to them, defend them, protect them and love them!
*Be proud of where you come from and remember who you represent.
*Take the time to confide more in your parent's. They want to help you. If you are sad, and need someone to talk to, go to them.

On Life:
*Life is short. Take the time to smell the roses and enjoy the things around you.
*Slow down! There are things that can wait. Take time to spend with those you love. Your children will grow up before your eyes and you need to cherish each precious moment with them.
I hope you don't think I'm preaching to you. I just want you to be happy!

Love,

Emily
